“There is nothing insignificant
in the world. It all depends on
the point of view.”
—Goethe
A woman is cleaning
the inside of a glass door.
At the end of her arm
is a white cloth—
moving in circles
against the pane.
It‘s as if she is waving
to the world—either
hello or goodbye.
As to which—is according
to her frame of mind . . .
or, possibly—to my own.
T.P. Bird has published in a number of lit journals and is the author of five full collections of poetry; the latest are from Golden Antelope Press, A Loose Rendering: Time, Memory, and Other Considerations; and Upstate Trilogy: A Celebration of Creation, Creativity, and the Examined Life.
